The past two weekends have been event-filled. Last weekend, Matt and I enjoyed a spa day at a great NYC spa (delightful). I went in the morning for a facial and pedicure and Matt went to the Natural History Museum with Chloe. When I was done, I took Chloe to lunch and the bookstore while Matt enjoyed a facial and manicure.
This past weekend we went into the city again to go here and purchase some items for Chinese New Year which is February 18. We got some slippers for Chloe and some banners to hang on our front door for CNY. We also got some traditional red envelopes. We have been reading books to Chloe on CNY customs and celebrations. She loves the lion dance. Of course, she has seen a lion dance but she was very young and probably doesn't remember it. After some shopping we walked from Chinatown to enjoy a traditionally British lunch here. It was awesome. Chloe even enjoyed it. We are excited to have made the discovery of it and it's sister restaurant for a traditional English breakfast. We also popped into the British foods store in between the two restaurants and bought some English sweets and took away a homemade sticky toffee pudding for dessert! You have to love NYC discoveries like this.
Today we met some other waiting families who also sent their dossier to China in September at the aquarium in Camden. We managed to get lost and separated from the group only to find others who were looking for the group. Chloe had a great time. The sharks scared her a little, but she warmed up to them and keeps talking about the sharks asking Daddy, "what a shark say?". As we left the aquarium she demanded we take her to the zoo now. Maybe later.
